Food supplement with freeze-dried papaya enzyme supplement MGP® GOLD and probiotic lactic acid yeast (KLUYVEROMYCES MARXIANUS B0399®).
Content of key ingredients:
1- Freeze-dried Papaya MGP Gold® (prebiotic)
2- Kluyveromyces marxianys B0399® – lactic yeast (probiotic)
MGP® Gold – the only plant-derived (NON-chemical) enzyme that can break down proteins in the stomach and intestine.
Papaya is one of the most beneficial fruits for gut health, as it contains high levels of beneficial digestive enzymes. They soothe the gut and help digest proteins and fats. This tropical fruit helps to displace bad bacteria in the gut and is a good source of prebiotics. Papaya is an excellent source of vitamin C and the antioxidant beta-carotene, which contribute to beautiful skin and a healthier immune system.
MGP® Gold papaya is an “intracellular enzyme” that binds to the matrix in the cells of the fruit in various ways. After extraction and filtration, the enzyme does NOT remain in the plant water, but remains in the solid phase consisting of the pulp and its matrix (pectin, fibre, starch, etc.), microencapsulated and virtually protected until it finds a suitable environment to perform its functions.
Papaya has been used by the indigenous people of the tropical and subtropical regions of our beautiful planet since time immemorial. Not surprisingly, these countries have the lowest incidence of gastrointestinal diseases. Papaya, like all fruits with pulp or “inky” skin (red, orange, yellow), contains a huge number of substances with both high nutritional value and significant physiological and functional effects. Among the features of this unusual plant, there is one that makes it unique and distinctive, namely the presence of proteolytic enzymes with a very broad spectrum of action: papain and chymopapain. These enzymes are “cysteine” type proteases with 3 disulfide bridges that provide thermostability and a certain mechanical strength. They are active at both acidic and alkaline pHs.
Pectins have been found to play an important role as a PREBIOTIC source capable of producing a certain amount of FFAs (short-chain fatty acids) after their degradation by indigeneous microbial flora or integrative probiotics. The latter play an essential role in in situ eubiosis, in communication – the brain-gut axis, and in the challenging and very subtle role of fundamental immunomodulation, controlling the balance between the external and subcutaneous (internal) gut lumen. Let’s not forget that there are “follicular” zones in the deep layers of the small intestine as access doors, with an important part of the immune system at the bottom. This is what it all comes back to: digestion, the gut, the immune system, the microbial flora, the gut-brain connection. From here we realise how important early diagnosis of SIBO and LGS is.
MGP® Gold is a clever formulation containing both a natural source of papain (in this case in a cold processed pectin strainer of fruit) and partially hydrolysed pectins rich in AG and RG. To achieve the ideal balance between enzymatic activity and pectin with the right degree of methylation and the presence of AG I/II and/or RG I/II, the variety and the length of time after harvest and before processing are very important (papaya is a climacteric fruit).
Pharmacological effects:
- Has a positive effect on the microbiota by promoting the growth of “good” bacteria, alkalinising the environment and catalysing the division of peptides and peptones.
- Prevents the formation of CIC (Circulating Immune Complex) by strengthening the immune system, which does not have to deal with other pathologies that may arise.
- Facilitates gastric digestion and in some cases replaces and/or helps the action of pepsin and other enzymes, completing the digestion of complex proteins, facilitating pancreatic and intestinal function.
- Restores and reconstructs the vascular system, prevents and cleanses blood vessels from plaque and blood clots.
- Facilitates enterocyte absorption and thus promotes liver regeneration.
- Enhances endogenous enzyme activity and degradation of ingested foods
- Makes the environment more alkaline
- Prevents the formation of secondary metabolites
- Improves intestinal motility (peristalsis)
Kluyveromyces marxianus B0399 – s a Lactic yeast with probiotic functions. It is a eukaryotic cell, so its functions and structure are similar to human cells. Under normal conditions, it is homofermentative (ferments lactose without gas formation). It can survive in an acidic environment and is resistant to most antibiotics (but it does NOT transfer antibiotic resistance to other microorganisms).
It is a lactic yeast with PROBIOTIC functions, whose action starts from 10 million CFU/dose.
Kluyveromyces marxianus B0399 is a probiotic composed of lactic bacterial yeast and clusters of bifidobacteria or lactic enzymes that guarantee a neutral response of the intestinal bacterial flora even during antibiotic therapy, an innovative breakthrough in the field of probiotics.
This means that it does not upset the stomach and has a very mild action.
This yeast is used to produce kefir and koumiss, as well as cheeses such as crescenza or stracchino, mozzarella and tomini.
The probiotic lactic acid yeast Kluyveromyces marxianus fragilis B0399 (TURVAL B0399) is a strain belonging to a species that occurs naturally in kefir and cheese and has been isolated from whey and curds from cow’s milk. It is the first non-saccharomyces yeast with probiotic activity on the market to be approved as a probiotic for both animal feed and human consumption. This strain has been shown to remain viable once introduced into the body, crossing the gastric barrier and colonising the intestine by attaching to enterocytes of the intestinal epithelium. It also regulates intestinal function during antibiotic therapy due to the inherent resistance of yeast to antibiotics directed against bacteria. In addition, β-galactosidase activity, which is absent in strains of the genus Saccharomyces, allows the breakdown of lactose to glucose and galactose, which alleviates the effects of lactose intolerance in lactose-sensitive individuals. A number of in vitro and in vivo experimental data show that K. marxianus B0399 is able to modulate the immune response by reducing the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which helps to alleviate the effects of certain diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome.
Pharmacological actions:
- Supports intestinal health
- Supports the immune system
- Direct effect on other bacteria (stimulates bifidum bacteria and neutralises pathogenic bacteria)
- Immunomodulatory agent
- Gastro-resistant- “Friendly” to bifida
- Resistant to antibiotics- Colonises the intestines
- Fights protozoal and helminth infestations
- Fights viral infections, bacteria, fungi (Candida)
- Helps with immune response and stress response
- Effective after antibiotic therapy, long-term therapy with corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, ACOs, PPIs
- Beneficial effect on unhealthy diet and food sensitisation (“silent” inflammation)
- Fights pathogenic microorganisms
- Intestine-soluble
Used in:
- Intestinal discomfort
- Dyspepsia
- Hypochloritis
- Gastritis
- Malabsorption
